Tyger Tyger (named after a published poem)

5th Sep 2007 04:31 I looked,
I stared,
I watched,
Through the bars of this prison,
I sat as tears rolled down towards my wiskers,
I raised a paw to my discoloured face and wiped them away,
I gritted my teethed and tried my hardest not to cry anymore,
I have to be strong,
I will not be defeated,
I will keep the last of my stripes,
They are my pride,
They are my identity,
They are my life,
My poor discoloured stripes,
My pride,
My identity,
My life,
Fading away,
I stood and looked at my back,
Only a few proud shiny black stripes remain,
I must escape,
I will not let them,
Steal my identity,
It is a fate worse than death,
No identity,
I looked closely at the gate,
The padlock is gone,
I am free,
Free,
Free as a bird,
Speaking of birds,
Theres one on that hill over there,
I wait,
My instincs kick in,
I run,
Almost as fast as a cheeta,
Into the day,
I head for the hill,
To the bird,
It is a bird of prey now,
And I'm the predator,
I stop,
I think,
Will it be painful for the thing?
What about its family?
I think of myself,
My poor self,
The odd one out,
The one with funny skin,
White stripes,
Jaundiced eyes,
My sad glistening eyes,
Witnessed eyes,
Witnessed murder,
Of,
Family,
Friends,
Enemy's,
Tygers,
I am relentless,
I pounce,
I moar the defencless thing,
To death,
I am still famished,
Hey what are they running by that river?
Could they be what I dream of,
White, Fluffy rabbits?
Yummy, deliscous balls of fluff?
I sit,
I wait,
My instincs tell me when to pounce,
How many?
1...4...7,
Enough to feed me for a few days,
If I get at least 5,
I will survive,
I will not be defeated,
I'll live for my stripes,
I'll so them I care,
That I miss them,
I'll make myself proud,
For them,
Not for me,
They will be loved,
More than I will ever be,
I have no family,
I have no friends,
Yet I am here,
Unloved.
