10th May 2010 07:41 73 today and very happy.
Our trip to Florida was great. We had fun and now he has met all my children. He was sick for a few days, it was allergys so know to give him something from the first when we go back.
We have beautiful gardens growing at both places, my yard looks better then ever with his help. Mow and trip both places every week.
Have been to the races twice already this spring, stay home a lot just because it's what we want. Dozen red roses for my birthday and took me out to eat for mothers day before he left for Texas.
Life is wonderful!!! God has blessed me.

30th Dec 2009 03:38 What a change this year has brought. In June I started seeing Brian and this has been such a full busy year with him. We have traveled together a lot, planning two weeks in Florida starting next week. He has become a fixture around here, takes care of anything he thinks is to much for me, made sure I had a great christmas and has just made life enjoyable. A year ago I was just waiting for it to all end one day, now there is a reason to live.
Cheryl died suddenly this Oct and I would have felt her loss so much more if he hadn't been here to lean on. The children and grandchildren all seem to like him and approve. I have gotten to know his son and we get along.
Now is selling my house and getting married ahead, who knows but those are his plans for this year.
Another great thing is that he had met Leigh and has no problems with his pictures around or me talking about him.
At 72 no one expects life to start over but it has and it's just as great as it was the first time around at 22.

17th Feb 2009 06:26 First entry for a new year. I had gotten away from Mara but after my old club folded I went searching for a new one and found a home. I hope to be there a long time, it is full of wonderful members.
Back to Mara and enjoying it. If I can help anyone out just let me know.
Health wise things aren't looking real great. Heart valves are leaking and my one hope is that they can be fixed without more heart surgery. It takes so long to recover and living alone it wouldn't be easy. My youngest daughter who lives about 35 miles away and is a RN thinks she can handle it so I will hang on to that hope. My three dogs and two cats would be lost without me and they are what keeps me going. The rest of the children live to far away to be able to take time from work and family to help.
Sorry to pour it all out but this is my record of what is going on.
I want to be around for a long time and hope to play on mara for many years, making friends and having fun.

31st Dec 2008 05:16 Another year almost gone. It started out looking to be a hard year for me and is ending as a good year. I made it thru the first year after my hubby died and by summer things started looking up. I spent the summer redoing my yard and after getting a new roof and the outside of the house completely redone I love the new look. Enjoyed many evenings on my deck watching the birds. Have wonderful neighbors who help me out in so many ways. Have had several visits from my daughter in law who I enjoy an evening with. Made a trip with my oldest daughter to the east coast. Have a new groomer who is great to work with and is going to free up a lot of time for me. Spike has joined my family and what a kitten he is, full of life and makes me laugh a lot.
Looking forward to a good new year and hope the best for all of you.

9th Feb 2008 07:56 Hard to believe that in only a little over a month it will be a year since my hubby of 50 years died. This has been a hard year for me, so many things that have been let go for years dealing with his illness now have to be taken care of. I now have a new roof on the house, the attic has a new foot of insulation and it is in the process of getting sided. Has been dark brown for the past 30 years and when I decided to replace the cedar siding I decided on tan siding. Hope I like it when it is finished. I know one thing my energy bills are about half what they were before I had the work done.
I miss Leigh so badly but know he is at peace and in a better place now. The last few years were so hard for both of us.
To all of you who have families remember that the years pass and things change, treasure each day with those you love.
