mom: kayla,honey wake up we have to go to the doctors for your check-up

kayla: k, but can we stop by austin's house? i wanna say hi.

picks up phone and calls austin

austin:ya im here

kayla:k ill stop bye and see u before i run some errands..k?

austin:ya of course id see u any day and any time.

kayla: k ill be there in 20 minutes but i can only stay for like 25 minutes then i have to go but when im done i can come back if u want..

austinf course i want you to come back

kayla: k luv ya see ya soon bye

austin:bye babe

both hang up phone

kayla:mom lets go i want to see austin

mom: k

kayla and her mom get in the car and go to austin's house

kayla arrives at austin's house
knocks on door

austin: babe just come in!

austin yells from back part of the house
kayla goes to the back of the house to austin's room

austin: hey babe!

kayla: hey hun!

they kiss and sit down on austin's bed

kayla: howd ya sleep?

austin: good but it would've been better if i could wake up to your beautiful face

kayla smiles and kisses austin on his cheek

austin: of couse he's your brother

kayla: ya well he found someone when he departed from iraq and now they live in west virginia and i might get to meet her when he comes! they sound really in love! there engaged!

kayla got in the car and went to the doctors for her check up......kayla and her mom waited in the doctors office for a while

nurse: kayla stane!

kayla and her mom got up and walked into the excam room
the doctor did the usuall just this time took some blood tests

doctor:bye

kayla and her mom walked out and drove to austins house...
kayla walked into the house to austins room

kayla:hey sorry i didnt call i wa----

kayla was interrupted when she looked at austin when she saw him with a needle in his and and he was taking his blood.

kayla:wha- wha-what are you do-do-doing?

kayla studdered

austin looked at her and was speechless

austin: babe hi come sit down ill explain

kayla slowly walked over to his bed and sat next to him

austin: babe..i have diabetes....

kayla: how did i not know weve gone out for 2 years?

austin:babe i just got diagnosed........

kayla: oh......when were you gonna tell me?

austin: i dont know

kayla became very disapointed until her phone sterted ringing and it was her mom

kayla: mom? what?----ya ---- ok----should i be worried?---ok-----bye--

kayla hung up and headed toward the door

kayla: gotta go bye

kayla left the room as austin watched in curiosity

austin:were u going babe?

kayla walked out the front door and got in the car with her mom and they drove to her house.kayla walked into her room with her mom and they sat on her bed

mom; honey? the doctor called....

kayla's mom eyes teared up...kayla looked at her mom

mom: kayla, honey, you have luekemia and ur not going to make it to the age 16....

kayla turned to her mom and put herhead on her shoulder and started sobbing then her mom joined her.

it had been 3 hours and kayla's mom let kayla take a nap in her room alone. kayla's phone was ringing off the hook so kayla's mom walked in and took it and it was austin

mom: austin? it's ms.stane, kayla is asleep...can u come here?

austin:ya ill be there in three minutes

austin rushed over to find ms.stane on the front porch waiting and crying...

austin: ms.stane? are you ok? whats the matter?

austin said sitting next to kayla's mom on the bench

ms.stane: k--k-kay-kayl-kayla has lu-lu-luek-luekemia...
kayla's mom said inbetween sobs

austin looked at kayla's mom and started crying

soon kayla woke up and heard crying and walked out onto the front porch to see austin and her mom holding each other crying as soon as the front door opened ms.stane and austin turned aND LOOKED AT kayla then austin ran to her and hugged her then they both started crying..

kayla: you found out? im not going to make it to s---sssss-- sixteen.....i love you

kayla said very hoarsly while hugging austin

austin: ya baby! i love you too! dont evr forget that....

after several days passed austin stayed and slept with kayla in her room and refused to leave her sight, kayla's mom told her brother and her brother came on a plane with his fionce and they would be there in two days

everymorning kayla would wake up and turn and look at austin and say you woke up to my face...and then say i love you and they would give each other a kiss.
one day until ryan would be there and kayla was very happy .
kayla took a nap but didnt wake up.........ryan arrived to find crying and kayla gone. kayla was with her father...
