22nd Feb 2008 15:05 90% of teens would DIE if MySpace was DESTROYED. If your one of the 10% who would be LAUGHING, copy & paste this in your signature.
So it's not in my signature.
Sue me. I still hate myspace.
I can already see the hate mail, 'OMG MYSPACE IS TEH BEST U LOOZER'
Oh- and I honestly having nothing against people with myspaces. If I did I would wouldn't have any friends. xD
Below is something I found on a petition to shut down myspace, not to make you myspacers hate myspace, but to give you an idea why I hate it:
This is a summary of what the online encyclopedia tells you about MySpace. What you don???t know through their information provided is how dangerous this websibte is or can be. Yes there are rules that are given before you???re allowed to sign on, but you can???t be too sure that all, if any are followed. There are WOW I LOVE Marapetss signed on, when the top rule is you must be 14 or older. There is profanity on maybe 85% of the profiles. There are photos on the profiles, that are against the rules, some show private parts of the body. Also, private information is posted, names, phone numbers, addresses, schools, etc. Enough for the child to be tracked down by the great number of pedofiles and predators.
According to CBS, a 13 yr. old girl began receiving graphic messages from a 38 yr. old man. He later on made it clear that he wanted to have sex with her. In New Jersey, a 14 yr. old female was murdered by an older male she met on MySpace. In February of this year, in Northern California a 15 yr. old disappeared and hasn???t been found. ???The Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported more than 2, 600 incidents last year of adults using the Internet to entice children. According to CBS in Chicago, there are more than 47 million signed on to this website. An investigator posed as a 15 yr. old on MySpace, within minutes, the investigator was asked, ???what r u wearing?...any panties on?...I can show u how to have sex.??? CBS investigators logged into MySpace and in no time, they found four girls who unknowingly revealed enough information about themselves to lead the investigators right to their homes. So far 350 pedophiles have been caught through MySpace.
