4th May 2009 14:38 Like I said on my profile, my favourite music genre is JRock (and visual kei, of course). My top five favourite artists would be (5 being lowest, 1 being my favourite):
5. L'Arc~en~Ciel
4. Miyavi
3. Malice Mizer
2. Nightmare (???????????????), Dir en grey, HYDE, AND hide (I can't decide)
1. Gackt
Really, I can't decide whether I like Naitomea, Diru, HYDE, or hide better. Since I've liked HYDE the longest, it would feel weird if I said he was anything lower than my second favourite, and Nightmare and Dir en grey are too awesome to say their anything less than my second favourite, and hide... Well, I listened to one song by him and he became one of my favourites. He's too awesome to exclude from that.
My favourite song by Gackt is Redemption - it was used as the ending theme for Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. Must be a nice game if it has such a good song on it. xD No, I haven't played it - yet... But I intend to. The opening theme for the same game was also made by Gackt, called Longing. It's a good song, but I like Redemption a lot better. Other songs by him that I enjoy are: Last Song, Dears, Emu ~For My Dear~ (Which was dedicated to Kami when he died), Mizerable, Orenji no Taiyou (with HYDE), Kimi ga Matteiru Kara, U+K, pretty much all of the songs, but the lyrics to Vanilla are very very strange. Do not look them up, please... Oh, but I would really like Vanilla if it were dedicated to Kami! LOL. Yes, I'm weird, but don't kill me because of it. xDD He says 'Kami-sama' in the song, I know he's referring to God, but /seriously/, if THAT were dedicated to Kami... Haha. If you know what I mean, you're probably disgusted. But for some reason I'm a GacktxKami fan, as well as a GakuHai (Meaning GacktxHYDE) fan. xDD Yes, I know that HYDE is married, but in Gackt's autobiography he admitted that he liked HYDE /that/ much. x3 Anyway, I think my second favourite song would be Emu ~For My Dear~, simply because Kami was so awesome and shouldn't have died. T_T And the fact that Gackt puts so much emotion into the song... It's sad, that he lost such a close friend... And sadder is the fact that it was Kami who was lost.
Nightmare is awesome, and so are all of their songs, but I would have to say that my favourite is the WORLD... It was used as the opening theme for the first season of Death Note. Alumina was of course good as well, the ending theme of Death Note. Raison d'Etre was good, the theme for Claymore, etc. Anyway, a song by them that I really like that /wasn't/ used on an anime is really all of them, but I guess Tokyo Shounen was good. Like I said, Nightmare is awesome, but also very weird (and hilarious xD). Especially Yomi... But I guess they're all weird, lol. I especially like this video...:

I can't understand a word they're saying until about six minutes through, but then it makes me laugh. And it's hilarious how Ni~ya and Ruka are always doing things to Yomi... x3 Hitsugi is probably my favourite member, because he's just that awesome. Yes, and I also love Sendai Kamotsu! And their 'motto' or whatever, haha...
By Dir en grey, my favourite song is... a tie between Obscure and Child Prey. I also really like Kasumi, etc etc. All of their songs are really awesome. Kyo is so funny... I wonder if he'd really hurt you if you called him 'kawaii.' xDDD I'm not going to test it out. But yes, Die, Kaoru, Toshiya, and Shinya are all awesome as well. I preferred it when Diru was visual, but as long as they still make good music it doesn't matter, now does it? Yes, Diru is violent. At least Kyo is. Just watch the uncensored version of Obscure if you don't believe me. But please, don't watch it if you're under eighteen, it's just that violent. No, I'm not eighteen, but I'm... mature... and... I like Dir en grey so much as to watch that... violent of a video... Uh, whatever. Obscure was the first song I heard by them, and I watched the censored version; it irritated me, so a while later I saw the uncensored version. It almost made someone throw up, haha. Kyo looks so... weird in it. xDD No not really, he looks cool, but his eyes... Creepy. x3
I like all of HYDE's songs, but my favourite song of his is Masquerade. I also really like Shallow Sleep and Season's Call, the Japanese versions. Though the English versions were good too. HYDE is really good at English. xD Like I said, I like all of his songs, but one I particularly like, next to the two I've mentioned already, would be Angel's Tale. And Orenji no Taiyou of course, though that was made with Gackt. I've even memorized the lyrics to Masquerade... They're English, so they're easier to remember (Lord, please shine your light down upon me; Lord, grant me good fortune don't shun me; Take all this unhappiness from me; Say, am I just crazy? Well, God bless me! <- Yes, that's only the first verse... But I'm not going to waste space writing the entire song...). HYDE has such a nice voice... xD
By hide, my favourite song is definitely Misery... It was the first song I heard by him; I hadn't even heard X Japan (he was the guitarist in it) before I heard Misery. xD The video is very amusing, especially the part where he drinks the weird flashpink bottle. I have no idea what's inside, but it's /obviously/ something he's not supposed to drink... I like pretty much all of his songs, even if the videos and/or lyrics are weird (i.e. Pink Spider), but my second favourite is Rocket Dive. No matter what the heck it's about. xD
My favourite song by Malice Mizer... I like pretty much anything that was made when KAMI WAS ALIVE. The first song I heard by MM was Beast of Blood, which was technically released when Kami was dead, but they used a track that he had made while he was still alive. So that's good, I suppose... I also really like Le Ciel, which was made in the Gackt era, my favourite of the three. The Tetsu era was my second favourite; why? Because Kami was ALIVE. -.- I like Klaha too, of course, but it's never as good without Kami. The video for Le Ciel is so cool... Oh, I really like Illuminati as well! So violent, Kami was the only /sane/ one in that video... Even Gackt was being an idiot! Not that that's a surprise... Just kidding. xD Well it's true, he snapped a woman's neck. And Mana was being weird too, same as Kozi, he looked like he was eating someone. Cannibal... No, Gackt is the cannibal! At least in Mr. Brain, haha, it's hilarious, he's always laughing in that drama! Insane, insane... Back to Malice Mizer... All of their songs are pretty good though...
My favourite songs by Miyavi are Ku Ku Ru (meaning Coo Quack Cluck, lol), and Jibun Kakumei, though I think I like Ku Ku Ru more. I mainly like Miyavi because he's so random and hyper (which can be easily proven...), and his lyrics are so unique. xD Just look up the translations of a few of his songs, really strange lyrics. But interesting... Lol, I remember seeing a video where Miyavi was singing the Japanese version of 'If You're Happy and You Know It' at a concert once. =D I also remember reading some comments on a video about Miyavi once... One person mentioned that he was at an anime festival, and that there was this huge line to get to see him... When that particular person got there, he spat on them. xDDD
Now, L'Arc~en~Ciel... Yes, HYDE, one of my second favourite artists, is the vocalist! How nice. Seriously, it is. I really liked the live of C'est la vie. Hilarious! HYDE is so protective of his penguin. xDD Pfft, and Ken was so rude, how could he knock it out of HYDE's hands like that? T_T Anyway, my favourite song by L'Arc~en~Ciel is Ready Steady Go, one of the themes used on Full Metal Alchemist (the anime). But all the songs I've heard by them are pretty good. HYDE is so funny. He was playing with a Tamagotchi during an interview once... x3 Many other funny things he and the rest of L'Arc~en~Ciel has done as well.
